A Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), Systems Engineer (MCSE), and Solution Developer (MCSD), Cliff is also a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) for software and systems engineering. During more than twenty years of computing experience, Cliff has produced solid results by following three principles for success: rapid and flexible development; attention to customer needs and economic sense; and built-in performance and reliability.

1998-2001  Yuri Software, Inc.
  • Architected a complete Active Server Page web site and SQL Server database to display, graph, and analyze comprehensive stock valuation data for 4,000 companies. Generated SQL queries on the fly according to user choice of analysis to be performed. Created complex graphical PDF files on demand. Designed extensive JavaScript for high client interactivity, fully functional on both Microsoft and Netscape browsers.
  • Developed ASP pages and Visual Basic and Visual C++ components to implement online stock and option trading for a major brokerage firm.
  • Designed and produced an automated process (C++, Transact-SQL) to translate and import financial clearinghouse database records into SQL Server databases.
  • Created a three-tier, real-time stock price quotation system with Microsoft Transaction Server (MTS) components in the middle tier and a scriptable COM component for the client.

  • At Microsoft Corporation, developed customizable commercial web sites to be included in Site Server 3.0. Employed all aspects of Site Server 3.0 and IIS 4.0--Virtual Sites, Active Server Pages, Scripting Objects, Membership Security, Content and Usage Analysis.
  • Created and delivered fifteen in-house courses for Stellcom engineers seeking Microsoft certification. Assisted over 40 San Diego area engineers to earn Microsoft Certified credentials.

  • Supported a satellite television subscriber database and transaction processing system with over 2M customer records.
  • As member of a six person rapid development team, delivered 16 software releases in 26 months.

  • Created an object database system for molecular structure simulation.
  • Supported multiplatform 3D molecular graphics modeling system.

  • Early member of the team that developed the first FDA-approved MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) devices.
  • Discovered a novel technique to extract chemical diagnostic information from MRI images (U.S. Patent 4,604,579).
